How often should you actually get a haircut

Short answer: it depends on the cut, not the calendar. Here are the intervals we use in the shop.

Most clients ask the same thing on the way out: “when should I come back?” The answer depends on what's on your head, not on a fixed rule.

Skin fade

On a skin fade the outline is gone in 10–14 days. If you want it to look like the day you walked out, come back in two weeks. Three weeks still works, but it isn't sharp any more.

Classic taper

A taper is far more forgiving. Three, even four weeks, especially if your hair grows evenly.

Medium or long cuts

Here we work on shape, not on the outline. Six to eight weeks, just enough to keep the line.

Beard

A beard outline holds for 7–10 days. If you keep it short, it's worth coming in for the outline between haircuts.

Practical tip: don't wait until you “need” a haircut. Book at the interval that suits your cut and walk out with the same hair every time.
